WHITEHOUSE - The Wildcats advanced by winning Monday’s second district semifinal at Anthony Wayne, topping perennial power St. Ursula 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20, a loss that snapped a run of 12 straight district championships for the seventh-seeded Arrows (10-9) and 19 in the past 21 seasons.
Sophomore outside hitter, Kamryn Hunt, led Northview with a team-high 15 kills, hitting .173, along with 16 digs. Also leading was sophomore outside hitter, Sydney Hires, and senior middle blocker, Haley Catti, which each added 10 kills for the Wildcats. Defensively, Northview was unstoppable - senior libero, Emma Dukate, had a team-high 28 digs, Madi Taylor with 17 digs, and Morgan Brixey with 12. Clare Kwiatkowski had 43 assist.
“We’ve really been preaching playing with each other and for each other, and having everybody do their job,” Northview coach Chad Rutkowski said.
