SYLVANIA - The most recent time Northview volleyball won a district championship in 1997, none of its current players were even alive.
But, after Wednesday night, they will have no trouble remembering the feeling of ending a 23-year drought after topping fellow Northern Lakes League rival Perrysburg in five sets, 23-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 15-13.
Leading for Northview in this victory was sophomore outside hitter Kamryn Hunt with 27 kills, hitting .216, while also posting 18 digs. Also leading for the LadyKats was freshman opposite Natalie Kerchevall with 10 kills and sophomore outside hitter Sydney Hires with 9 kills.
Northview's defense was, once again, outstanding. Led by senior libero, Emma Dukate, with team-high 25 digs and passed a 2.35. Chipping in on the defensive side of the ball was junior Madi Taylor with 13 digs, and senior Morgan Brixey with 11. Senior setter Clare Kwiatkowski also had 12 digs to go along with her 51 assists.

Northview will play volleyball in the month of November for the first time in school history. On Thursday, November 5, 2020, they will play at Port Clinton High School at 5:30 P.M. and the opponent will be the winner of Magnificat vs. Olmsted Falls; they play on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Magnificat.
