AMHERST - In a huge non-conference match-up, Amherst Steele was able to defeat Sylvania Northview (4-3 overall, 3-0 NLL), winning three sets to one.
Leading for Northview was junior outside hitter, Kam Hunt, with 17 kills and junior outside hitter, Sydney Hires, with 10 kills. Sophomore setter, Natalie Kerchevall, chipped in 7 kills hitting .283 with 30 assists. Junior libero, Dani Wardrop contributed 22 digs and senior opposite, Madi Taylor, had 14 digs. Northview struggled from the beginning with errors and was unable to recover.
Both JV and Freshman won the first set, but were ultimately defeated in three sets.
Northview returns to the court on Tuesday in the Crosstown Showdown as they travel to Southview. Freshman start at 4:45 P.M., JV and 5:45 P.M. and Varsity at 7:00 P.M.
