Northview Falls on Senior & Parents Night

SYLVANIA - As the Cats celebrated Senior & Parents Night on the final home match of the 2025 regular season, it was a tough start for Northview as the match got underway as the offense never seemed to find their footing. As a result, Northview lost 0-3 to finish the regular season with a 13-9 overall record.Leading for the Cats was senior Talia Twigg, with a team high 15 kills, 7 digs while passing a 2.06, and recording 3 aces. The Cats also got 4 big kills on 8 attempts from sophomore middle blocker, Reese Holmes, who hit .500. Cats Win in Straight Sets In Final NLL Match of 2025

FINDLAY - As Northern Lakes League play wraps up for the 2025 season, Northview traveled to Findlay for the finally NLL match of the season and it was a commanding win for the Cats in straight sets to move to 12-8 overall, 8-6 in the NLL, 4-4 in the Buckeye division.Leading for the Cats was sophomore libero, Jade Hagan, with 16 points won on serving alone, a 72.7% point scoring percentage, while recording a team-high 3 aces, passing a 2.25 and recording 8 digs. Offensively, the Cats were lead by senior outside hitter, Talia Twigg with a team-high 11 kills, hitting .280, while adding 5 digs and passing a 2.27 and sophomore middle blocker, Reese Holmes with 7 kills, hitting .308. The Cats received 4 kills a piece from senior Bri Langenderder, junior Frankie Ramsdell-Washington and freshman Lilly Smith. SYLVANIA - Caturday in Sylvania as the Wildcats hosted Olentangy Liberty for their fifth straight home match and the Cats were able to finish the day with either sixth sweep in a row to move to 11-6 overall.Northview was led by senior Bri Langenderfer with a team-high 13 kills, hitting .545, while adding 6 digs and 3 blocks; and senior Talia Twigg with 13 kills, hitting .225, while adding a team-high 15 digs. Freshman Lilly Smith added 5 kills and both middle blockers, Reese Holmes and Frankie Ramsdell-Washington added 3 a piece. Junior setter, Alayna Sauer, dished out 31 assists, 4 kills of her own, and 7 digs. SYLVANIA - In a Thursday night non-conference match between Northview & Notre Dame, on Project Unify night, it was all Northview winning in straight sets for their 5th straight set victory in a row, pushing them to 10-5 overall, 7-3 in the NLL.Leading for Northview was senior outside hitter, Talia Twigg, with a team-high 13 kills, hitting .344, 8 digs and 5 aces. Also leading for the Cats was freshman opposite hitter, Lilly Smith, with 10 kills, her first career double digit night, hitting .438. The Cats received 8 kills, hitting .412 with 4 blocks from junior middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington and 8 kills from senior Bri Langenderfer. Cats Win Decisively over Amherst Steele Comets

AMHERST - The Cats comeback and push towards the halfway point of the season was capped off on Saturday with a decisive four set victory over the Amherst Comets to push Northview to 5-4, 3-2 in the NLL and 1-1 in the Buckeye Division.Leading for Northview was junior setter Alayna Sauer, with 29 assists, 6 blocks, 6 digs, 4 kills, hitting .667 and 3 aces. Senior pin hitters, Talia Twigg and Bri Langenderfer led the Cats with 9 kills, and junior middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington with 6 kills and 8 blocks, and junior pin, Molly Suon, with 6 kills. Langenderfer added a team high 6 aces. TOLEDO - In the first match-up of the NLL Buckeye Division for the Wildcats and they were able to pull off the sweep of the Panthers to win their third straight match to move to 3-2 (2-1 in the NLL, 1-0 in the Buckeye Division).Leading for the Cats was sophomore middle blocker, Reese Holmes, with 8 kills, hitting .429 and 2 blocks. Senior outside, Talia Twigg led the team with 11 kills, hitting .333, passing 1.76, 3 aces, and 9 digs; and senior opposite, Bri Langenderfer with 6 kills. Frankie Ramsdell-Washington added 4 kills and won 9 points off of serve. Northview wins the first set, Lake bounces back to win two and three forcing Northview into a must win in set 4, which they pull off and forced a deciding set five. Northview was victorious in the match to move to 2-2 on the season.Leading for the Cats was junior setter, Alayna Sauer, with 44 assists, 18 digs (her second double-double of the season), while adding 18 points won on serve throughout the match with 4 aces. WHITEHOUSE - On Saturday, the Cats traveled to play Anthony Wayne and it was all Generals in the straight set victory over the Cats.Leading for the Cats was junior Nolan Smith with a team high 14 kills, junior Xavier Hale with 6 kills and senior setter/opposite, Dillon Ersig with 5 kills, 12 assists and 12 digs. Kamryn Hunt Named AVCA All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. (November 9, 2022) - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce the 17th annual AVCA Girls High School All-America Teams.  Northview senior outside hitter, Kamryn Hunt, has been named Honorable Mention All-American. Hunt is the first Northview Volleyball player to awarded this honor. In her career, she contributed some amazing stats: Matches Played - 98 Sets Played - 331 Attacking - 3003 attempts, 1293 kills, averaging 3.906 kills per set, hitting .275 with a 43% kill percentage. Serving - 756 attempts, 83 aces, with a 87% serving percentage Blocking - 11 total blcoks, 60 of those being solo and 51 being assisted Digging - 765 digs, averaging 2.31 digs per set Passing - 1587 passing attempts with a passing rating of 1.96 with 603 perfect passes A record 1,183 nominations were submitted to the AVCA and MaxPreps, resulting in 300 All-Americans and Honorable Mention All-American selections. Toledo Old Newsboys Honors Kamryn Hunt as Toledo Volleyball Player of the Year

TOLEDO - On November 30, 2022 at the Annual Scholarship Banquet and Paper Sale Kickoff, an evening of tribute and recognition of academic achievement for high school students, Northview senior volleyball player Kamryn Hunt was named the 2022 Toledo Volleyball Player of the Year.  Kamryn was surrounded with two other exceptional nominees, Hannah Howard, senior libero from St. Ursula Academy and fellow NLL athlete, Gretchen Sigman, junior opposite hitter who were both honored as runner-ups at this event. Kamryn was accompanied at the event with her parents, Kati and Kyle, and Northview head coach, Chad Rutkowski and his husband, Kevin Lintjer.   

Five NVVB Players Elected All-District, Rutkowski Coach of the Year

The Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association, District VII, has annouced their All-District teams for the 2022 season and give Northview Wildcats were elected to All-District VII teams: First Team All-District VII Kamryn Hunt, Senior, Outside Hitter Natalie Kerchevall, Junior, Setter/Opposite Honorable Mention All-District VII Sydney Hires, Senior, Outside Hitter Claire Smith, Junior, Middble Blocker Jordyn Pakulski, Junior, Libero In addition, Northview Head Volleyball Coach, Chad Rutkowski, was elected as the 2022 District VII Coach of the Year as the Wildcats have posted a 20-5 overall record and a #12 ranking in the state of Ohio. 

OHSVCA and MaxPreps Polls Released - Week 1

In the first Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches Poll and the first MaxPreps Computer Poll of the season, Northview Volleyball comes in at #8 in the Coaches Poll and #6 in the MaxPreps Computer Poll. The OHSVCA Coaches Poll is simply a coaches vote throughout the state of Ohio. There are six (6) polls through the season and they are released every Sunday evening on the OHSVCA website.  The MaxPreps Computer Poll does not poll coaches, sportswriters or fans. Nor does their staff make any judgments on the merits of any individual team. Prior season history, school size and comments on message boards are not considered in the MaxPreps Computer Rankings.  The system utilizes the huge number of game results stored in the MaxPreps database. Generally, the more a team wins, the higher the ranking. However, the system takes into account quality wins (against other highly ranked opponents) and strength of schedule. Northview Captures 2022 District Title

MILLBURY - The third meeting of Anthony Wayne vs. Northview, this time for a District Championship, and it was Northview winning in four sets to claim their 2nd District title in 3 years, their first 20 win season in program history, and the 3rd District title in program history (1997, 2020, 2022).  Leading for Northview was senior outside hitter, Sydney Hires, with a team high 19 kills, hitting. 342, with 11 digs, and 6 aces for the Wildcats. Northview Wins 2022 NLL Championship!

PERRYSBURG - The NLL Championship came down to Northview (12-1) vs. Perrysburg (11-2) for either a share of the title or an outright victory for the Wildcats on Thursday night and Perrysburg was able to secure a share of the title. This is the first NLL Championship for Northview since 2015 now 17-4 (12-2 NLL).  Leading for Northview was lead offensively by junior setter, Natalie Kerchevall, with 12 kills, hitting .462 with 20 assists and 7 digs for the Cats. Senior outside hitters, Kam Hunt and Sydney Hires both had team high 13 kills hitting .125 and .250 respectively and Hunt was able to produce a double-double with 16 digs. Junior middle blocker, Claire Smith, added 6 crucial kills, hitting .250 and freshman middle blocker, Lucy Sauer, added 4 blocks. Junior setter, Hannah Schoen added a double-double to her resume with 17 assists and 12 digs. and junior libero, Jordyn Pakulski, added 15 digs. Kamryn Hunt Selected as All-Ohio Volleyball

COLUMBUS - For the second consecutive year, Northview junior, Kamryn Hunt, has been selected as an Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association (OHSVCA) All-Ohio Honorable Mention award winner. In 2020, Hunt was selected as third Team All-Ohio and is only the 2nd player in Northview history (Megan Baier, 1998 Third Team All-Ohio and 1999 Second Team All-Ohio) to be honored twice. When asked about her award this year, Kamryn said "we certainly have our sights set on 2022 - to win the programs first Regional Championship and to represent Northwest Ohio in the Final Four. We know that the teams success will drive our individual success and I would be honored to have the opportunity to be the first three-time All-Ohio winner and to be the only Northview player to be selected to First Team All-Ohio but know that will come on the heels of the team and our success as a unit."  In 2021, Kamryn led the Wildcats to a 13-12 over
