FINDLAY - Northview (2-0) won in straight sets over Liberty-Benton (2-1) snapping the Eagles 32 match win streak, their first loss since October 28, 2020. The Wildcats defeated the Eagles 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.
Leading for Northview was the dynamic duo of their outside hitters, Sydney Hires and Kamryn Hunt. Hires had 15 kills, hitting .290, 7 digs and 2 aces, while Hunt had a team-high 17 kills, hitting .238, 8 digs and 2 aces. Also leading the offense was junior setter Natalie Kerchevall with 4 kills, 26 assists, and 5 digs and junior setter, Hannah Schoen with 12 assists. Junior middle blocker, Claire Smith, chipped in 4 monstrous kills.
Northview's passing and defense was superb with a team passing rating of 2.23 and 44 total digs. Leading was junior Libero, Jordyn Pakulski with a team high 13 digs and senior defensive specialist, Dani Wardrop with 4 digs and 2 clutch aces down the stretch to seal it for Northview.
